Hello once more readers,
Today I wanted to share with all of you my thoughts on my most recent fountain pen acquisition. My mother was looking on the Fountain Pen Revolution web site, and saw that they were offering a good sale on their Himalaya V2 pens. I had seen the amethyst purple version of this pen, and really liked how it looked with the chrome accents, so we decided to give it a try.

According to the Fountain Pen Revolution website, this pen has a capped length of 13.4cm (5.2″), a posted length of 15.2cm (5.9″), and a weight of 16g (.7oz) when empty. Measuring the cap myself, I found that it has a length of just under 2.5″. The body of the pen measures just under 5″ by itself.
This pen comes in several very nice looking colors, and while my mother got her own pen, I only have any experience with my own purple one. It features a very dark purple that almost looks black when not interrupted with the white material floating inside. It is opaque enough that you can’t see the level of ink inside. The only bit of trim on this pen comes in the form of the clip and cap band. I often find myself getting distracted when I have it out, and spend minutes just staring at the light shining off of the pen.

Unlike my other pens from Fountain Pen Revolution, I simply got a fine nib. When I got this pen it was with the hope that I would have a better experience than I had previously with this brand, because the pen looked really nice and I wanted to enjoy writing with it. I lost a lot of the first converter full of ink to a leak into the cap. I cleaned the pen and cap, and then after letting it dry, I carefully pulled the nib and feed out of the pen. I found out that they had not been secured into place fully, so I carefully reinserted them, making sure to fit it securely. Now that I have done that, the pen writes wonderfully, and has not leaked at all.

I would say that these pens are worth getting, but I would recommend checking the nib and feed before inking up the pen. I found it fairly easy to make the minor repair work to get the pen working again, and would get another one of these pens.

I hope that you enjoyed hearing my thoughts on the FPR Himalaya v2 Chrome fountain pen. Have you gotten one of these pens? How did you like using it? I would love to hear your thoughts on this pen, so please feel free to leave a comment. I am not sure what my next post is going to be about, but I am working on it. Until next time readers. Stay happy and healthy, and keep on learning!
Shaggy

It is a very pretty pen! I’m glad you were able to adjust things to get it to work well, too
