Hello readers,
Well time has managed to get away from me and it is time to share what I have inked up in my pen sleeves for the month. I managed to go through all of the pens I had inked up last month, and then cleaned and put away a few of the pens that I used last month. This month is getting a fresh start except for the two samples I am still working on from the end of last month that I spoke about in my last post, which can be found here. Now for the new pens for the month.

The first pen that I decided to ink up this month is my FPR Himilaya V2. I decided I wanted to use an ink that I had more of and was willing to lose, because I am still having some issues with this pen, and I went with Sheaffer Purple. I chose this combinatation of pen and ink for the next portion of the book that I am copying down, and I think that I have gotten most of the issues worked out with this pen, I just need to keep it inked up more fully so it doesn’t leak.

My second pen is a cheap Jinhao that I got before buying the real brands. I decided I wanted to write more with my Diamine Writer’s Blood ink, so I put it in this pen after I had swapped the nib from the medium nib it came with to an extra-fine nib that I had gotten from Amazon. I found this pen a very easy one to change the nib on, and if you are just starting to think about doing any kind of pen modifications I would highly recommend this brand to try it out on.

For my third pen I have found myself returning to my Monteverde Ritma and some sort of brown ink. This month I chose Herbin Lie de The, which I have decided is my absolute favorite brown ink, and really want to get a full bottle of. While I doubt it will happen, I may decide to put this pen up for a little while after it empties this time, just so that I can give my other pens a shot in my pen sleeves.

For my fourth pen I wanted another more business aproppriate color, and the pen that I like using with those colors is my shiny black Majohn A1. Since I had gotten those new ink samples at the end of last month, I really wanted to try out some more of those inks, and the one that I chose was Diamine Silver Fox. I have been quite surprised at how much I enjoy this color, I enjoy the fact that it is lighter than most greys seem, but stays legible on the page.

My final newly inked pen for this month is my violet leopard Pilot Metropolitan. I like carrying this pen with my travel notebook, and as such I tend to put a more fun color in. This month I am trying another one of my new samples, and one that I have wanted to try for a little while now, the Goulet Pens exclusive with Colrverse, Witch By Starlight. I enjoy the fact that this ink looks like a dusty purple ink in some lights, and a grey-blue in others. I am really glad that I was finally able to try this ink out and I would like to get a bottle of this at some point as well.

That does it for my inked pens for the moth. When added to the two prior inked pens I have seven pens inked up this month, and I am quite surprised that I am only inking that many up this month. I am hoping to get a new pen this month, but I want to keep that a secret until I actually have it. I hope you enjoyed this peek into my pen sleeves. What are y’all carrying around this month? Do you do anything to keep track of the pens that you use or have used? I would love to hear your thoughts on anything pen related, so please feel free to leave a comment.

The only thing I do to keep track of pens and inks is to record in one of my journals, as part of a brain dump post, what pen and ink I am using. I don’t do that every entry – just when I’m using something new or a combination I really like
