Hello readers,
Today I wanted to finally share my thoughts on the new Lamy Blackberry ink. This is the second new ink we got from Lamy for this year, and I think it is a fun color to use. I have been using it in two pens now and finally think I am ready to share my thoughts on it. Now on to the ink of the day!

This is a very dark shade of purple, and I really like it. With the sheening properties it really feels like I am writing with crushed up blackberries. I think this ink could pass for a black ink at a quick glance when using a finer nib, but it has more color when using something broader. This ink has felt a little wetter compared to most inks, but it dries fairly quickly. Sadly, there is still a chance for smudging from us lefties though.

When I did the water test on this ink, I was expecting it to still be legible, but I was still surprised at how legible it stayed. I don’t know that I would call this a waterproof ink, but I also don’t think you really need to worry at the first drop of water that hits it. Let me know if you have different thoughts on this, please.

All in all, I would really recommend this ink if you are looking for a subtle but fun ink to use. So far I have only used it in both a fine and extra-fine pen, but I think it would really show off the purple in a broader nib. Have you had a chance to try this ink out yet? If so, how did you like it? I am working on my next post right now, and it will be a small step away from fountain pens, but I think it will be close enough. Until next time my friends. Stay happy and healthy, and keep on learning!

I really like this ink! I have used it in a Pilot nib and in an off-brand pen that says it’s but writes like a fine or maybe even medium. There’s a ton of sheen with that nib! I think I’ll try it in a nib next time. It looks so different depending on the nib! But I have yet to think I don’t really like it!
