Hello readers,

First off, Happy Fountain Pen Day! Now that that is out of the way, it is a new month and it is time to share what I pens and ink I am going to be writing with this month. I had some slight issues with ink flow in both of my A1s, so I decided to put both of them up for a little while. I was able to use up all of my pens last month except for one, but I knew it would probably last me almost two months. That pen is my Epakh piston filler.

The first pen that I inked up for the month was of course my BENU Lavender Talisman. At first I wasn’t too sure what ink I wanted to use in this pen, but as I was looking through my samples I found one that I really wanted to use. The ink that I chose was Robert Oster Australis Hydra. While this is a lighter blue ink, I find it reminds me of swimming in the ocean as a youngster. I really like the amount of shading I can get out of a fine nib with this ink, and I really enjoy seeing it come out of this pen.

For my second new pen of the month I chose my Black Crocodile Pilot MR. I hadn’t used this pen in a little while, and I found myself missing writing with it. I chose to ink it up with De Atrementis Silver Grey. This is another really nice shade of grey, but I don’t know if I would say it is my favorite grey ink.

The last pen I chose to ink up this month is my Lamy Safari with their left-handed nib. I chose to ink it up with Diamine Cocoa Shimmer, and with this ink I think the pen writes just a little bit finer than usual. I am still trying to get used to this pen so that I can try to write even finer with it. This ink is a very nice brown with shimmer to it.

So, those are the pens I chose to use for this month. I know I keep on using my BENU, but it is really my favorite pen at the moment and I just love writing with it. I am hoping to get a new pen before Christmas comes, but I think I am going to keep on using my BENU for a while longer. What do you think of my choices for pens and inks this month? Would you have rather seen more traditional autumn colors instead of what I chose? I would love to hear your thoughts on the way I put these pens and inks together , so please feel free to leave a comment. For my next post, I am going to talk about some gift ideas for the leftie writer in your life. Until next time readers. Stay happy and healthy, and keep on learning.

I was a little surprised to see you are only using 4 pens this month. Was there a reason for downsizing or did it just happen?
I like your ink choices. I wouldn’t have thought to put a blue ink in your Benu, but pen and ink are both so beautiful that I can’t complain.
I have been using a lot of dark inks lately. I’m changing what I think about nib sizes and ink colors, so I’ve started experimenting a little. My favorite combination right now is Diamine Twilight in my Petrol AL-Star with a F nib.

The downsize just kind of happened. I couldn’t really decide what pens I wanted to use at first

That’s as good a reason as any, I guess!
