Hello readers,
I know that yesterday was the holiday for it in this country, but I am still feeling thankful for things like the hobby of fountain pens and writing. Today I want to share with you some of what I am thankful for in these amazing hobbies. Hopefully I can help you think of what you can be thankful for.
The first part of this hobby that I am thankful for is the need to slow down to really think out my words. My mind tends to be moving all over the place, but when I pick up my pens I have to slow down and focus on what I am trying to write. I am slowly learning to use this type of focusing to work on going through my emotions more frequently, but it is slow going. When I am able to slow myself down to really focus, I do find it easier to actually cope with what I am going through.
The next part of the hobby that I am thankful for is just how unique each person’s experience is. Even if you are a married couple sharing the journey together, part of a club that shares pens, or even just have a good friend who also likes fountain pens; each person will get a different experience from the exact same pen. There is no wrong way to enjoy pens or writing, and that is probably what is best about these hobbies.
The last big part of the hobby that I am thankful for is the other people. So far I have not met anyone through pens or writing that I just haven’t liked. Nearly everyone is supportive of each other’s path through the hobby, and this is a rare thing to find these days. When I have a question and ask it, I am never made to feel bad for not knowing the answer.
These are just a few of the things that I am thankful for in this hobby. Honestly I am thankful just for having what pens I have, and could just ramble on all day about them. Since I don’t think you all really want to spend that much time reading my ramblings I am going to stop here. What part of the hobby are you thankful for? Do you ever just look at your pens and feel better about things? Until next time readers. Stay happy and healthy, and keep on learning!

I am very thankful for pens and writing, too. Writing is so much more fun with nice pens and different colored inks. The more fun it is, the more I want to do it!
When I feel my anxiety level rising, I can open my notebook, pick up my pen, and know I can write through the anxiety and feel much better when I am done. Sometimes I write about whatever is causing the anxiety, but usually I just write about whatever comes into my mind. Either way, it helps.
I don’t often just look at my pens except for the one I am currently writing with, but I understand the joy that might bring you.
It’s nice to have something so positive in life, isn’t it?
